Your first wallet: a practical guide to self-custody
Understand keys, recovery phrases, and the decisions to make before moving your crypto.

Start with the essentials
Self-custody means taking responsibility for the keys that control your assets. A wallet helps you use those keys; the assets themselves are recorded on the network.
A recovery phrase can restore access to a compatible wallet. It should never be shared with someone claiming to offer support, entered into an unfamiliar website, or treated like an ordinary account password.
Before using a wallet, understand its supported networks and its recovery process. Read the provider’s official documentation and recognize that different wallets make different trade-offs between convenience and control.
This is a sample learning article for the design preview. A finished guide would include verified product-specific instructions, source links, and a documented review date.
